My top 20 can be seen here:

    http://onereallykillerline.blogspot.com/2009/01/my-top-20-albums-of-2008.html

Dave, I am with Austin, Radiohead was in my 2007 list.

    Hi Andrea and Austin—->
Here’s my justification that makes Radiohead: In Rainbows also relevant for my 2008 list and not just for my 2007 list:

It was made available on CD on January 1, 2008, after the download release in October (3rd quarter) of 2007. Sometimes when a release falls so late in the year, it’s hard to see the line as a hard line between early 2007 and 2008. Furthermore, for those that bought the super duper version of the LP/CD box set, they didn’t get theirs till the last week of 2007 (as I did). And ultimately, since Discology is a Music store that sells physical media, I gotta count it!

I appreciate that this one is such a hard call but I listened to it well into 2008. Thanks for the comments. I would love to hear more from people regarding anything on anybody’s list. And Andrea, I look forward to talking about and playing some Red Sparowes for you next time. For me, each album is “like a soundtrack to a film that doesn’t exist”. David

Mike, your list is impressive. I am going to check some of those bands out.

Dave, next time I am in tell me a little about the Red Sparrows.

    1. Auburn Lull – Begin Civil Twilight
    2. Cut Copy – In Ghost Colours
    3. Deerhunter – Microcastle / Weird Era Cont.
    4. Fleet Foxes – Fleet Foxes
    5. Lindstrøm – Where I Go You Go Too
    6. M83 – Saturdays = Youth
    7. Portishead – Third
    8. The Raveonettes – Lust Lust Lust

This list is what albums I listened to most often in 2008 and then, albums that may have come out in 07 or earlier but I did all my listening in 08.

    NIN- ghosts and Slip
I can’t really add much to this.

    Mogwai- Hawk is Howling
I<3 Mogwai. That’s all there is to it.

Sigur Ros- That one with the weird name. You you know the one. Not the old one with the weird name, but that newer one. Yeah, that one.

TV on the Radio- Dear Science
I had scattered single songs from TV on the Radio and never plunged for whole albums, but Dave has helped me correct that error now I’ve been listening to a couple of their albums all at once like one giant awesome album.

    Jay Z- American Gangster
I know. I can hear your eyes rolling. But I have always dug Jay-Z. This album came out in Nov of 2007, and I’ll probably still be rocking it on my iPod in Nov 3007.

Amanda Palmer- Who Killed Amanda Palmer
While not quite the Dresden Dolls, Palmer has a style all her own. If you haven’t already, check out her video cycle on you tube.

Foo Fighters- Echoes Silence Patience and Grace.
I was worried after “One by One” that Dave and the boys had found a rut to get stuck in. I was wrong.

    Oldies but Goodies
    Interpol- Our Love to Admire
I know this one is from mid 07 and that’s probably reaching back too far for the main list, but I bought this one during a buying spree and finally got around to really listening to it early 08. I pretty much dig all Interpol’s work and still listen to tracks from this album regularly.

    Rhymefest- Blue Collar
Holy crap! Another rap album? Yes. From 2006, but I didn’t hear it until 08 and I don’t think I’ve heard a rap album this fun since Method and Red’s “Blackout!” or most EPMD albums.

    3. Katy Perry – One Of The Boys
    4. Lady Gaga – The Fame
    5. Beyonce – I Am… Sasha Fierce
    6. The Veronicas – Hook Me Up [2007]
