Hello,

Discology will be closed from Noon till ??? on Saturday, March 29th due to a personal engagement. It is likely that I will be back to open the store in the late afternoon, but I cannot say for sure when. Please call 323-2121 to see if the store is open.

My apologies for any inconvenience,

David

Retroshock from 97.3 FM/BoB is holding it’s one year anniversary party here at Discology on Friday, March 21st from 6-9pm. This is going to be a blowout:

Special Acoustic performance by George Pickard of the Atomiks

Willie, the host of Retroshock, will be spinning LPs including the new Bauhaus album: Go Away White

Contest drawing for the vinyl of Bauhaus’ Go Away White (which is not coincidently on white vinyl). The winner will be drawn from entries by customers who bought Go Away White on CD. There is still time to enter if you want a chance to win. The winner will also be announced on Retroshock on Saturday’s show between 10pm and Midnight.

Of course there will be food and drinks to boot– as if another reason was needed to come down! See you here on Friday.

Thanks to Willie and 97.3 FM/BoB for creating Retroshock– a great show that showcases remixes, B-Sides and deep cuts from the 80’s and 90’s.

Discology and Retroshock/BoB 97.3 FM are proud to announce the release of Bauhaus’ new album Go Away White. This is the band’s first new studio recording in 25 years. Unfortunately, as in 1983, the recording of this album has caused the band to split up again and go their seperate ways. Go Away White is available at Discology on either CD or LP and we are sponsoring a special contest for the release. If you come in to Discology and purchase a copy of the new Bauhaus CD, then you will be entered into a contest to win a copy of the LP on March 21st. Winners will be announced on Retroshock, Saturday, March 22nd between 10pm and Midnight on BoB 97.3 FM.

Discology would like to thank Willie at Retroshock/BoB 97.3 FM for putting out a show that caters to the great 80’s and 90’s music, the deep cuts and cool remixes that have been overlooked for too long. Please read Willie’s blog here: http://retroshock973.blogspot.com/

 Serendipity Show
A new exhibit from Artist Cami Welsh-Griffith is on display as of March 5th with a reception on Friday, March 14th from 6-9pm. Please come by for this FREE event or even before if you’re not able to make it to the reception. As always there will be food and libations at the reception as well as the ability to talk to the artist herself. See you here.

I hope you’ll be as excited as I am about the release of Seth Horan’s brand new DVD!It’s entitled “Between Two Oceans”, and it contains footage from the past six and a half years of his career…between the performances and the documentaries, it includes so much that it’s actually a DOUBLE-SIDED disc with over 2 1/2 hours of content. It’s also a lot of fun.

YOU CAN BUY IT RIGHT HERE IN RENO…instant gratification, and you don’t have to pay for any shipping fees.

The DVD is available in Reno EXCLUSIVELY at DISCOLOGY, Reno’s last real record store.

Gene Loves Jezebel will be performing at Tonic Lounge (231 W. 2nd St.) on Wednesday, February, 13th at 6:30pm. Tickets for the show are available at Discology for $15 + $1 service fee.

In conjunction with 97.3FM BoB, Discology is also holding a contest to win free tickets, a meet and greet with the band and signed memorabilia. The drawing will take place on Tuesday evening so come on by and enter to win.
